Everyday life

The documentation of domestic and private life throughout all social classes is a significant concern of the TECHNOSEUM. Anything found in homes matters here. Living and working conditions in large cities are just as important as those of farmers and tradesmen in the countryside. Textiles and clothing, such as work garments and dowry linen are also represented.

One aspect of our collection is a great interest in historical toys. The focus is on objects that adopt technology or teach about technology and research, such as educational games or building blocks. We also have collected parlour games from all periods of the 19th and 20th centuries.
